I am a street photographer in New York City. Several months ago, I was approached by a representative of DKNY who asked to purchase 300 of my photos to hang in their store windows “around the world.” They offered me $15,000. A friend in the industry told me that $50 per photo was not nearly enough to receive from a company with hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue. So I asked for more money. They said “no.”Today, a fan sent me a photo from a DKNY store in Bangkok. The window is full of my photos. These photos were used without my knowledge, and without compensation.I don’t want any money. But please REBLOG this post if you think that DKNY should donate $100,000 on my behalf to the YMCA in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. That donation would sure help a lot of deserving kids go to summer camp. I’ll let you guys know if it happens.

Why Crediting is Important

What’s supposed to happen

What’s happening when you don’t credit

What you’re making them do

Every artist grow by displaying their work and getting critique. But when their work is spread around without any credit to the artist, AND EVEN MAKES THE OWN ARTIST DELETE IT FROM HIS/HER SITE it lost the purpose and meaning.

Coming to PAX? Well, come and say hello to me at Fangamer vs. Attract Mode party on Saturday, September 1. I hope I’ll be able to meet some of the artists that are showing and also consistently featured on the #Gaming tag.

ATTRACT MODE RETURNS BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER

Attract Mode started almost four years ago as a online shop and video gaming culture blog ran by Matt Hawkins and Adam Robezzoli.  All was well until a database crash put the site down for over a year while the site’s owners continued to pursue other ventures.

Now the site has returned as a Collective with some amazing talented folks contributing and helping make the new version of Attract Mode better than ever!

The Collective is a who’s who in video game culture with such members as: Adam Robezzoli, Matt Hawkins, Cory Schmitz, Maré Odomo, Daniel Rehn, Derek Yu, Tiff Chow, Steph Thirion, Paul Levering, Paul Owens, Asif Siddiky, Phil Fish, Eric Caoili, JC Fletcher, Ted Martens, Zach Gage, Evan Shamoon and Superbrothers.

It’s extremely exciting to see where this iteration of Attract Mode will lead and if you happen to be headed to Penny Arcade Expo later this month in Seatttle, WA you may want to check out Attract Mode’s next live event: Fangamer vs. Attract Mode!

On September 1st (Saturday Night), from 7PM-11PM this live event will include food, drinks, games (Super Time Force, Cumulo Nimblers and more), 8bit chiptune music from Danimal Cannon and some incredible art from some amazing artists.

Artist’s confirmed for now:

Honestly my mind is blown with how much awesome is being crammed into one location that I can’t wait for this event.  It’s $5 admission to get in and all of the original art plus limited reproductions on hand will be for sale.  My wallet is already aching in anticipation of owning some of these artists’ work.

The event venue is: 1927 Events (1927 3rd Ave) which is just a few blocks away from the convention center where PAX Prime is.  The cost of admission gets you entrance and complimentary appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks but there will be a bar there for those seeking something more stronger.

Sheik Cosplay
A #Gaming tag favorite, Elysha, outdoes herself with her her first cosplay as Sheik. I think she looks like a bad ass. I wish she would’ve struck a more fighter pose though for the picture than the standard super hero pose.
